Live History is a 100% Portuguese registered trademark and a licensed company by the Tourism Bureau of Portugal operating tours in the city of Lisbon.


We are one of the few companies operating in Lisbon that is in fact both local and Portuguese and we have two main goals in our company’s philosophy and vision:


- to provide off the beaten path free tours that cover the most important neighbourhoods of the city, offering top level content and insights on both historical and actual facts of Lisbon, shared by guides that really are locals and love their city


- to help fight the effects of gentrification in the tourism business by developing partnerships with local creative hubs and local commerce and by helping real locals find a permanent job position with us and not only a temporary occupation during summertime

Free Donation Based Tours
Our best selling Free Walking Tours are very popular and we do them everyday. The old neighbourhoods of Lisbon have a layout composed of narrow streets and alleys that are difficult to navigate with big groups. Because of that, we often divide the amount of participants, at the beginning of the tours, trying to not have groups bigger than 25 persons, which allows us to provide better tours for our customers where everybody can listen with ease to the content our guides are sharing and we also offer private tours on demand. 
Private Tailor-Made Tours
Besides our best selling Free Walking Tours, we also offer private alternative or custom designed tours on demand. Have a taste of Portuguese sweets and drinks. Due to our top level content we often provide historical themed tours for schools and universities, and, on a totally different level, we also offer interactive team-building events designed for corporate clients who want to organize a field trip with activities, such as games and quizzes, for their co-workers.
